CBD & Athletes: What are the Benefits?

Read Time: 2 Minutes
CBD is a great supplement to take for athletes due to the immense amount of health benefits the oil has to offer. CBD, or Cannabidiol, is the non-psychoactive property that is found in cannabis plants, and it is the key ingredient for the medicinal properties of cannabis. CBD offers some of the same medical benefits as cannabis, like anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety and analgesic agents, but without the side effect of getting high.  Because of these benefits, we've included the ingredient in several of our new products. Check out our Hemp based Products here.

Here are a few of the many ways CBD can aid athletes & fitness enthusiasts:

One of the biggest issues athletes face on a daily basis is inflammation, due to the stress put on their joints. CBD acts as an anti-inflammatory, which is a great way to prevent joint injury during physical activity, as well as reduce any pain from swelling. For a joint formula with CBD, look into our CBFlex. It's packed with premium ingredients, including CBD, to promote a healthy inflammatory response.

As an analgesic, CBD can help to alleviate pain both during and after exercise. Not only does it reduce pain, but Cannabinoids have anti-emetic effects, helping athletes reduce nausea during exercise as well. Additionally, CBD is known to have antispasmodic properties, helping reduce muscle spasms due to straining the muscle and dehydration. To cut down, your recovery time, check out Recoup, our Hemp Based Post-Workout formula.

Another issue athletes encounter often is getting the required amount of sleep. As muscles recover better during deep sleep, and athletes need to be well rested in order to perform at peak levels, CBD comes in handy with its known relaxing effects on users. In fact, CBD has often been used to treat insomnia. For a better night's sleep, try CBSleep.

Lastly, CBD can actually work to curb your appetite and control your weight. To many, cannabis is associated with increase in appetites and binge eating. This is actually caused by the THC in cannabis. As CBD does not contain large amounts of THC, it’s proven to do the opposite—helping you keep your appetite and weight in check.
So, if you are looking for a supplement that affects your overall well-being, give CBD a shot. Not only does it help you power through your workouts because it keeps your inflammation and nausea down, it aids in recovery and pain relief as well. CBD also improves your sleep patterns, allowing you to become well rested and essentially more productive.
